چکیده

Abstract Grafting of styrene (S) onto biopolymer Sodium Alginate (NaAlg) via free-radical polymerization forming (NaAlg-g-PS), using potassium persulfate K 2 S O 8 (KPS) as initiator. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Proton nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H-NMR) characterized the formed grafted copolymer scanning electron microscope (SEM) to show changes in surface morphology sodium alginate, which occurred due grafting process. The effect various parameters on as; Styrene KPS concentration, temperature, time is studied. adsorption both cationic dye (Malachite Green) anionic (Congo Red) was investigated. In addition for toxic heavy metals such Cu 2+ , Cr 6+ Ni Co . order metal by > biological activity shown toward Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Gram-negative), Bacillus subtilis (Gram-positive) agar diffusion method. obtained results showed excellent improvement antibacterial alginate against Graphical abstract

Synthesis of novel biodegradable antibacterial grafted xanthan gum.

Xanthan gum (XG) is natural polysaccharides used in food industries as stabilizers and thickener agents. The problem is that some food products are found to be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphyloccus aureus (S. aureus) that reduce their shelf life. This research aims to synthesize biodegradable antibacterial XG-grafted-poly(N-vinyl imidazole) PVI ...

Textile Wastewater Treatment Using Sawdust as Adsorbent

The role of sawdust in the removal of pollutants from textile wastewater has been investigated. The textile wastewater was treated by using sawdust as adsorbent and then filtered. The various physicochemical characteristics of sawdust treated and untreated textile effluent were analyzed. The maximum percent removal of 37% was observed for total suspended solids while minimum removal of 9% for c...

Preparation, characterization and adsorption properties of a novel 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane functionalized sodium alginate porous membrane adsorbent for Cr(III) ions.

In this study, we prepared 3-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane (APTEOS) functionalized sodium alginate (SA) porous membrane adsorbent (APTEOS/SA) and tested its adsorption performance for removing of Cr(III) ions. The physico-chemical properties of the pristine and Cr(III) ions loaded APTEOS/SA were investigated by FT-IR, SEM-EDX, TG, AFM, and contact angle goniometer methods. To investigate the adso...
